This is my DT card for the “New Release Inspiration”
Day for artist Wendy Burns' latest creations at All Dressed Up Stamps. I
love this playful little squirrel and his birdie friend in a digi named "Acorn
Season"! I used a circle template from my scrapbook stash to encircle most
of the little scene, catching several of the blowing leaves within the circle. Alcohol
markers and a white gel pen helped bring the digi to life. After trimming around
the circle, I fussy-cut the little leaves that had “escaped” the circled area
and decorated the acorn basket with them. When finished, I adhered the finished
scene to the front of an old postcard from my stash and added lovely fall/Thanksgiving
sentiments! An added note: The first photo was taken in daylight, and the colors appear somewhat washed out. So I took a second pic away from the window, and the details are easier to see.

This card
is a perfect fit for the current chocolate/sweets theme at Park Hopping. It
features a cute image and sentiment from a Tiddly Inks set named "Cookie
Bug and Extras". After coloring the
Cookie Bug, I fussy-cut the digi and added glitter to her wings. I printed off,
colored, and fussy-cut extra copies of the yummy cookie in various sizes to decorate
the card front and sentiment.
An added note: Although Christy Croll, the artist/owner of Tiddly Inks, closed her challenge blog a few years ago, she has maintained the blog site HERE to provide access to coloring tutorials, her Etsy shop, and 39 freebies in assorted themes.
I’m entering this card
into several challenges, including Time Out
Challenge: Theme- Friendship, encouragement, support (The sentiment notes that good
friends are important in life, which is true. However, good friends WITH chocolate would be
a WIN-WIN!)
Supplies:
· Instructions for Z-fold card base can be found HERE.
· Digi and sentiments are from a Tiddly Inks Freebie set (No longer
available), but you can check out the Freebies section of the blog HERE

Back in
the 90s, a friend and I opened a stamp store in South Dakota, and Art
Impressions was one of the first companies that we carried. While de-cluttering, I found a box full of stamped images that I had made way back then. (Yes…this is
definite proof that I have inherited the craft packrat gene from my dear Mom!) I
was amazed how well this inked image survived this long, so I colored,
fussy-cut, and set her aside while I worked on a card base. There were a few mug-shaped cards in another box, so I decided to put them to work to create a card
that I could enter into the current Coffee Loving Paper Crafters/Caffeinated Christmas
Card Challenge. After adhering cloudy sky patterned paper, I attached the sweet
angel, created the sentiment tag (hand-written), attached it and a pink bow to
the handle… and TaDaa!
·
Mug Template- I found several on Pinterest,
the one that is similar to mine, with instructions for putting it together, is
found HERE.
·
