I love that so many fall-themed challenges
are showing up! This fall card features a cute little origami fox from a
set of 12 origami “critters” that I found on sale at Oriental Trading Company a
while ago. The original fox is cute, but I did a bit of fussy-cutting to create
the look of “fur.” When he looked nice and fluffy, I set him aside
to create the background for the card front. I stamped some lovely fall leaves
to use as embellishments on my card, then added a few frames made with paper
from my stash. Ahhh... fall!

This card features a digi from a Beccy’s Place
beverage-themed set, which always makes me crave a hot beverage! After
printing, coloring and trimming
the digi to fit within a frame on the front of the card base, I added a backing
of elegant sage green patterned paper behind the digi to help it really POP! A
few sentiments, plus peppermint embellishments finished off the yummy card!
Supplies:
·
A2 Card front is from a boxed
card/envelope set I found at the local Goodwill.

When I saw that this week’s Simon Says Wednesday Challenge required the
use of clear stamps, I dug through my clear sets and decided to use this Hero
Arts Stamp and Cut Butterfly (clear stamp and die set) to make my first card
for the challenge. I really like that the set includes both a stamp and die for
the butterfly’s body and antennae, plus consists of a few small butterflies AND
the sentiment. All these options helped the card to go together really quickly!
A sprinkling of pink rhinestones adds bling to both pretty butterflies' wings.
·

All of your cards here are wonderful, Kathy! But that origami fox is such a cute and clever idea. I love incorporating unexpected things like this into cards. And I agree, I'm so glad it's fall, even if it's still warm here. There's just an excitement in the air. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday! :)
