It’s September first, which
means I get to share my DT card for the All Dressed Up (ADU) Stamps monthly
FB Challenge. The theme is
“Anything Goes” and my card features a wedding-related digi named “First Dance”. I decided
to make an elegant card with deep, rich colors, various textures (yay
for tulle), and lots of sparkle! Definitely not a single-layer card, I did lots
of fussy-cutting, punching, piling on layers of various papers, and finished
the process with the “laying on of the bling” (gold ribbon and gold punched hearts).
Now, I just need a wedding invitation and… I’m prepared! Supplies:
·
Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique
markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·
Sentiments- from a Beccy’s Place Digi set that is no longer available. (Business recently changed to clear stamps/wholesale only)
·
Tan parchment paper, calligraphy lettering paper and embossed silver
cardstock- Hobby Lobby
·
Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.
·
Heart punches, other misc. items and tools from my stash.

I’m a DT for All Dressed Up FB Challenge, I’m entering for fun.
Please don’t include me in the prize draw!
Over
a dozen years ago, while scrapbooking, I searched for “Free chocolate chip
cookie photos” on the web and found a few wonderful ones. I recently unearthed several of these cookies in my stash, already fussy-cut and perfect to use on a card for the
Willy Wonka-themed challenge at Park Hopping. (I have no idea of the source,
but I did a web search again and found lots of options, one of which I noted on
my supplies list.)
I also found a few Fortune
Cookie shaped templates that I’d purchased from Oriental Trading Company years
ago, and trimmed one of them into a circle to use as the base for the large cookie. After sizing and printing a
cookie that would fit on the template, I fussy-cut then attached it to the
template. I printed the computer-generated sentiment onto tan parchment paper,
trimmed it to size, and attached it to the inside of the cookie template. So fun!
Since the cookie looks so real, I decided
to add a piece of woodgrain paper to an A2 card base to create the look of a
picnic table. Next, I adhered a real checked picnic napkin atop the “table”,
trimmed it to size, the attached the cookie. (The two pieces of cookies peeking
out from beneath the napkin are only there because I accidentally ripped the
napkin when adhering the large cookie. Ooopsies gone!)
I’m entering this card into several challenges, including Time Out
Challenge (Theme: Friendship, encouragement, support). The front sentiment on my card is about friends, and… well… I also love sharing cookies with friends!

Says Wednesday Challenge-AG
I love fall, so I am happy to see Thanksgiving and fall-related challenges
starting to show up. I made this card to enter into the Snippets Challenge, a
favorite because it encourages me to use all the lovely paper scraps and
upcycled treasures that I hoard… I mean… save… for later use! I used a video
tutorial to make this “Mosaic
Card Design.” I like making quilted cards with scraps, but this technique is
nice because it doesn’t require the time-consuming process of fitting all the
little snippets together with no gaps. Instead, the tutorial shows how to
simplify the process using adhesive paper, embossing powder, and a heat tool. The
results are so pretty! I’m entering this card into several challenges, including Outlawz Sunday Challenge: Songs and Rhymes-Marigold (The poem mentions golden petals, and my card includes several shades or golden orange like you'd see in a Marigold!)
