myasperations 1-17-25

This card features a warm and cuddly image from Di’s Digi named Wooly Ted. The background is a lovely freebie I found on the web many years ago. I reformatted the color scheme from brights to grey and pink, to create this unusually colored Christman card.
Supplies:

·   Background Subway Art- A freebie from papercharmdesigns.blogspot.com (under printables-Christmas. Right click, then "save as" option, and rename file to computer)

·   Dig-Dis Digis (Wooly Ted)  Retired

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Marvey Silver Marker, and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Inside Sentiment- “A Happy Christmas to You” from The Paper Shelter Digi Set (Vintage Xmas Designs)

·   Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.

·   All other items from my stash.

Since I’m a DT for All Dressed Up (one of the sponsors), please don’t include me in the draw for their prize!

This sweet Valentine's image is a freebie from Tiddly Inks. I’m not sure if the critter is a porcupine or a hedgehog, but I opted for the latter, and I think he looks cute, and not too stickery! I wanted to make a card to enter into the current Snippets Challenge, so I pulled out my scraps folders and picked assorted strips in reds, pinks, and neutral colors! Although weaving the pieces together was more tedious than I'd planned I like the way the background turned out. I used some of the same colors on the digi, plus helped the little Hedgie to stand out from the “busy” background by sliding a red cardstock heart beneath him. (I did take a closeup of the card, and added that photo below since the shading and different colors stand out a bit more clearly with less light glare.) I also cut a circle from the woven background (from an area that the digi covers) to place behind the inside sentiment, carrying the colors and pattern to the inside of the card.
An added note: Although Christy Croll, the artist and owner of Tiddly Inks, closed her challenge blog a few years ago, she has maintained the site to allow access to coloring tutorials and several freebies (including this image) HERE and sells a nice assortment of digis in her Etsy shop HERE.
I’m entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz Wednesday Sketch (my card reflects this month's shape and cues-Circle and Cute.)
Supplies:

·   Digi- Tiddly Inks Freebie “Be Mine” (you can find this digi, plus more, in the Freebies section of the blog HERE)

·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Inside Sentiment “Happy Valentine's Day!”- Computer-Generated

·   Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.

·   Sheer ribbon and all other misc. items and tools from my stash.

This card is for my brother's birthday, and I know he will love its snarky sentiment, especially because he is three years older than I am! The card features a cute little boy and a weathered wood-framed window that brings the beauty of a pretty fall day inside. A scrap of acetate and foam tape helps to add some depth to the card, which you can see in the closeup photo taken from the side.
I love this weathered window and was saddened to learn that the link where I found it a few years ago is no longer active. However, I originally found the frames for free through the Gecko Galz Blogspot and FB page. Both regularly offer nice digital images… sometimes free!
