I have
planned to create a Zebra card or two to enter into this month’s Outlawz Sunday
Songs and Rhymes Challenge-Zebra Question by
Shel Silverstein. My card was inspired by a fun (and free) kids book of Zebra
Puns and Jokes that I found on the web. When I found it I knew that I wanted to
make a card with Zebras and a trampoline for a joke lovin’ 9-year-old son of a
friend. I had the concept in my brain after finding this fun trampoline
sentiment, but it took me a while to figure out how to put the card together. I
wanted the inside of the card to give the impression of bouncing zebras but
wasn’t quite sure how to do that. So… I printed off an extra Zebra to cut in
half so that I could make it look like Zebras were bouncing in and out of the
card frame. They looked a little odd, so I added dashed lines to show their
trajectory. I wasn’t sure others would grasp my intention. So… I shared it with
my hubby and he said “I get it.” So, if a 58-year-old man understands it, I
hope a 9-year-old one does!!

This card features a
Moondrea Designs digi, which is provided free to participants of their monthly
Progressive FB Challenge. I decided to make a Valentine’s Day card, digi which
will be added to packets of cards that I’ll be giving to a few brides and
grooms this summer. I had fun coloring the beautiful digi with rich Victorian
shades, and sketching a few details on her hat brim to turn it into a pretty
straw bonnet.

This month’s sketch at Build Your Stash
Holiday Cardmakers group (BYSHC) Challenge on FB is a simple one that has inspired me to make
many cards. The cute
little Angel from Polkadoodles is trumpeting a bit of Christmas music for two
little tweets! When decluttering my craftoom I found a pile of lovely
Christmas subway art backgrounds that I had printed on vellum at least 10 years
ago. I know that I have the original of this one somewhere in my computer
files, but I can’t locate it. I did find a similar one, also free and Christian-themed, that you can find HERE. Supplies:
