The Paper Shelter
Team is celebrating their 10th Anniversary with lots of prizes. So…
of course I had to dig out a few of their wonderful images and get busy. This
is the second, a daring Santa snowboarding the slopes! I had fun coloring the
digi with bright colors and adding a bit of bling and furry texture. The
background scene is from a different Paper Shelter digi set. (The background scenes
are one of the things that I love about TPS digi sets. I love mixing and matching
them!)

I won this wonderful Santa image from Scribbles Designs a few months ago.
I had fun using a snowy background from The Paper Shelters, plus many items
from my stash to add layers of rich colors, textures and even some bling to
this card. The silver snowflake stickers and Merry Christmas sentiment are from
a fundraising mailer we received earlier this month. (Been getting tons of groups
asking for donations this year. This is from one that we do help support!)
I’m
entering this card into several challenges including Simon
Says Monday Challenge- Favorite Technique (I enjoy adding patterns and details to digi images with gel
pens to create texture and interest. I added “embroidery” and straight stitching
to Santas coat, plus lots of wayward hairs from his beard and mustache) and Monday Outlawz Greeting Challenge (my card includes green, silver and deep red.)
Supplies:
· Digi- Scribbles Designs (Woodland Santa)
· Background- The Paper Shelter Digi Set (Penquins Friends-Background)
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura
Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Front Sentiment- metal Happy Holiday Chart from my stash
·
Inside Sentiment- Silver stickers from my stash
· Assorted cardstock,
burgundy ribbon and sheer blue ribbon embossed with silver snowflakes from my
stash
· Silver photo corners available from several web sources (WXJ13 13 Sheets 13 Colors Photo Mounting Corners)

This week I’m
hosting a challenge at we craft cards. Challenge themes this month are to
relate to Movies. I love Christmas movies... so it was hard to pick just one
but I finally decided on picking one that makes me laugh, “A Christmas Story.” I love that provides a bit of nostalgia but
with a humorous twist. (Back in the ‘60s I actually licked a flagpole when after
my older brothers dared me to do it! So… that scene made me laugh, but also
cringe! And then laugh again when I remembered that my brothers were duly punished
that Christmas!)
My challenge is for participants to create a card that might bring a smile to the face of the recipient. And, if it features a touch of nostalgia or real-life, participants will get their name in the prize drawing twice.
My sample card is a tri-fold that features an adorable digi with two cute puppies. I added a bit of humor with the computer-generated sentiment on the inside flap… as I remember our dog DID eat Santa’s cookies one Christmas.
Supplies:
· Digi- Createful Designs- Curious Christmas Pups
· Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
· Front Sentiment-- TLC Creations Freebie (Santa Stop Here)
· Flap Sentiment- Computer Generated
· Inside Sentiment- Love SVG Freebie (May your Christmas be Sweet)
· Cardstock and 2-sided background
paper from my stash
