The new challenge at Double D's is named "Kentucky
Derby Hat." I found a wonderful digi in my collection from Create with
TLC. It's a freebie and you can find it HERE. I printed the image
onto white cardstock and added a little color on her face, cheeks, lips and hat
with Spectrum Noir markers. I then used a fine-line black Sharpie to add dark
curly hair around her face and a white gel pen to add highlights on her eyes,
lips and lacy color. To add some color and texture, plus some realism, I cut a
few slits into the hat brim and lacy collar, then pulled a few scraps of tulle
through them, fluffing it gently and taping it down on the backside. A small
pink bow and ribbon tucked in among the loops of tulle. Found a pretty square
doily in my stash [is actually a piece of a plastic tablecloth that I bought at a
hardware store a few years ago. Yes… you read that correctly. A hardware
store.] Discovered that double-stick doesn't stick to plastic doily squares, so
ended up stapling the image to the doily squares with a few colored staples. The sentiment on the front of the card is a
freebie from Desert Diva. You can find it HERE. The inside sentiment
is from a Beccy's Place digi set named "True Beauty." I'm entering this card into several other challenges including If You Give a Crafter a Cookie since the card contains pretty pink and some lacy edging.

I love this sweet owl image and matching digi that are
both freebies from PaperSmooches. You can find them HERE. I colored the little
hoot with Spectrum Noir markers and white gel pen, then posed him inside of a Peekaboo Frame fold, sometimes called a Origami Shadow
Box. I found a great tutorial for making this super simple fold HERE.

The cute cup image is a digi from Verve Stamps that I
purchased during the 2017 Coffee Lovers Fall Blog Hop. And Verve the sentiment is from a Crafting Desert
Diva set named Coffee Hero. I used lots of
scraps of patterned paper, plus a bit of vellum to make the swirls of steam.
