myasperations 7-2-25

I was honored to be invited to be a guest designer for the Word Art Wednesday Challenges in July. This is my first card using the current scripture verse, which I embellished with filigree photo corners, and a beautiful gold embossed Cross stamp that I’ve had in my rubber stamp collection since the early 2000s! I removed the rubber from the wood mount many years ago, but I think it was from a company named Our Daily Bread Designs. (If any readers recognize the image, please let me know if I have the correct source name. Thanks!)
Supplies:
• Scripture Digi- from Word Art Wednesday post (7-2-25)
• Stamped Image- Cross from Our Daily Bread Designs (Company name changed to Divinity Designs in 2018). Although this stamp is no longer available, they have many other wonderful cross images, dies, etc.
• Stamped with gold pigment ink, embossed with glittery gold powder (both from my stash)
• Weathered wood background paper-Hobby Lobby
• Gold filigree photo corners- Hobby Lobby
• Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.
 • All other misc. items and tools from my stash.

Tomorrow is a national holiday here in the USA, and this card features the Declaration of Independence, the document that the United States celebrates on July 4th. I decorated the base of the card with torn strips of parchment paper, framed the digi by adhering it atop a rectangle of burgundy cardstock, then adhered it to the card base. Gold photocorners and flourishes add a rich antique gleam to the card.

Paper Funday- #78 Anything Goes

Last July, I discovered a company named Not2Shabby when I won a challenge. For my prize, I selected a 6x6 paper pack that includes a wonderful assortment of papers. I’d made a few watermelon cards last summer, using the paper pack and a template I found on Pinterest. (The slices were so easy and fun to make that I made them in 7 sizes and found that I had several slices left. So… just in time for our 4th of July celebrations, there is watermelon for our picnics!
The base of the card is an A2-sized piece of paper. I adhered two images from my scrapbook stash: a picnic basket, and a pitcher of yummy looking lemonade. Strips of light green cardstock, snipped into blades of grass, were layered across the bottom of the card. The watermelon wedge was placed against the basket and adhered in place. Sentiments were added to the front and inside of the card. The inside sentiment was perched atop a scrap of cloud paper… then the final touch was to embellish the card with uninvited picnic guests, i.e. ANTS!

Supplies:

·  Not2Shabby 6x6 paper pack (Watercolor Cuties)

·  Template and instructions for making Watermelon slices found HERE

·   Heart shaped seed were added to the watermelon with a Sharpie Permanent black marker and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen

·   Picnic images from my scrapbook stash.

·   Sentiments- from Imagine That digi sest (Sadly Company is no longer in business. I miss Kris!)

·   Peg mount rubber stamp- Ant image from Judikins (no longer available)

·   Sookwang double-sided tape- Available from several sources on the web.

·   Cloud patterned paper, other misc. items and tools from my stash.
