This
weeks sponsor is The Paper Shelter, and my DT card features a
wonderful image named Casual Boy. I colored and fussy cut the handsome young man then positioned him on the background that comes with the digi. I added an additional pop of color by placing a Post-It
star behind his head. The sentiments are freebies from Skogstokiga Blogspot.
I’m entering this card
into several challenges including The Sisterhood of crafters “Ink it up” (it
took several layers of me to get his jacket to resemble black leather. At least
I hope you can tell that is what it’s supposed to be?!)

A Perfect Time to Craft 2020-Anything Goes- July Challenge #7-2020
I was
thrilled when I recently won a Cute As A Button Challenge because I love
Francesca’s sweet images. I had fun “shopping” and finally decided upon this
adorable digi because I kinda like kitties. (I just wish that there was a way
that I could make this card purr?!)
When coloring the neckline of her top I messed
up a bit. Decided to add a bit of lace with my white gel pen to cover that oops.
Yay… saved it! Then decided to add some white stitching on her sweater and some
pencil stitching along the edge of the rectangular image which allows me to enter
this card into the current Double D “stitches” challenge. Yay!

I
usually like the control and vibrant colors that alcohol markers provide, so
using decorative chalks and Q-tips for coloring is really a stretch for me. But,
this card shows me that I can successfully meet that challenge, and even have
fun doing it! I decided on chalks because I wanted the card to have a rustic color
scheme to match the background postage stamps (a freebie from Graphics Fairy.) I
also opted for a slimline card, because it allows me to add more of the cute
little vintage stamps and because I have just found an unopened, but old, box of size 10 envelopes that I’d
like to use before the adhesive is no longer sticky. (Yep, I know they are old because
the little yellow price sticker says “Hagger Drug, 79¢”. I worked at that little
hometown store during high school and college… and I know it’s been closed for
a while. So these envelopes might actually be considered antiques?!) Also, since the current Power Poppy Challenge is to create a slimline card, I can enter this card into that challenge, too.) I did add a
few shadows/definition with colored pencils and highlights with my trusty white
gel pen… maybe because of that “control” thingee?! The festive embellishments are
made with a pine branch punch and Nuvo Drops. Falalalala la la la laaaaa!
