The first
card features a beautiful image, and inside sentiment, from Beccy’s Place. The
dotted background paper makes me think of confetti. I taped a strip of
cardboard across the screw top before wrapping a scrap of foil around the top of
the bottle to add sparkle and texture. Circles cut from yellow vellum and a blue plastic document folder add color. (Document folders come in a pack of assorted colors
and can be found in the office supply section of most stores. I really like
using them on my cards because they're often cheaper than colored vellum, are more
translucent and easy to cut with a nice, sharp pair of scissors.) Happy New
Year!

The next card features a cute image from The Paper
Shelter. The background is any upcycled Christmas card, topped with vellum to
allow the image to stand out. I tried to add a bit of froth to the top of the
cocoa… but when I showed my hubby the card he chuckled and said, “Looks like he’s
making little fart bubbles!” Yikes!

If it comes to a choice between those two drinks, then I'm definitely a cocoa girl Kathy, although I do prefer coffee, and in this heat it would be an iced coffee at that. I love your New Year card though, what an awesome idea to add foil to the neck of the bottle! You're always so creative with your embellishments.
ReplyDeleteThe gingerbread man hanging out in the cocoa cup is adorable! Love the shades. Your colouring is fantastic as always Kathy, you do such a lovely job, particularly with the highlighting and contrasting.
Cheers,
Beccy
Great card... and for me this year it ended up being a small glass of port to toast the new year!
