Crafty Hazelnut’s Patterned Paper Challenge- July
Last weeks challenge
at wecraftcards was to make a Shape Card. I made this flip flop card because I
could also enter it into a few other challenges. I used a template found HERE, tracing the smaller flip flop image from
tropical patterned paper, changing the heel shape a bit. Punched three holes into
this template and used the instructions to add the straps onto this template,
taping the ends to the underside of the template. I created the flower
embellishment with a paper punch and a few scraps of paper plus a heart-shaped
button. When finished, I laid this flip flop atop a white A2 sized folded card and
positioned it so that there would be a fold across the top that would allow it
to stand. Adhered it and then carefully cut around the image. The sentiments are
computer generated.

I wanted to make one more card for the current Paper
Shelter
and their sweet digi named My Fantasy Pet. I framed the adorable girl and her
friend with a red foil frame that I upcycled from an old Christmas card. Added
a rectangle of vellum to help showcase the pair and layered them atop a few
layers of rich colored papers, one from the Die Cuts with a View - Far East
Collection - Foil Paper Stack has a fun wave design. The Hello sentiment is
from Desert Diva. You can find it HERE. Am including this card into several challenges including Outlaws Tuesday Color Challenge [my card includes pink, golden yellow, green and a flower in her hair.]

Challenge Week 27-Anything Goes
The last card for this posting uses an adorable surfing penguin digi that is
available HERE. I was inspired to create this card
after seeing the image on a card entered into another challenge. [You can see
that card HERE.] I printed the cute little surfer
onto white cardstock, fussy cut the image, then colored it with Spectrum
Noir markers and a Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen. The white pen smudged a
bit, but I decided to leave it because it adds a bit of "movement" to
the card. Used another piece of the wave design paper form the Die Cuts with a
View - Far East Collection - Foil Paper Stack to create the background. Used an
Exacto knife to cut a few of the waves so that the surfboard could be slid beneath
the wave. Added some "foam" to the waves by coloring a small number
of them with the white gel pen and then softening them with a light grey
Spectrum Noir marker. The sentiment is computer generated. Am entering this
card into several challenges including Do-Al[l] Creative's "On the Wave" where the
challenge is to create anything about
the beach, sea and water.
