Last month I
was honored to be a Guest DT at Imagine That Digi Stamps. This month I am so excited to be a full-fledged
DT for designer/owner Kris Breach. She is a wonderfully talented person and is also sweet and kind [like other digi/stamp designers that I know] so I
know I'm going to love being on her team. This card features images and sentiments from
her digi set named "Mermaid Swimming." You can find it HERE.
I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and a white gel pen and created the "water" with an A2 sized piece of a blue plastic
document folder. This wonderful item
comes in a pack of assorted colors and you can find them in the office supply section
of most stores. I really like using them on my cards because they're often
cheaper than colored vellum and are more translucent. You can write on them with a fine-line
permanent marker and they're also easy to fussy-cut with a nice, sharp pair of
scissors. Also, when
making this card I discovered that layering little strips and scraps of the
blue plastic under the larger piece, creates ripples and adds wonderful depth
to water. After I had the water and waves taped together with a few thin strips of tape on the underside, I cut "wave" slits in the thin blue plastic with an Exacto knife and gently slipped the cutie into the water. When places where I wanted, I added a bit of tape from the back to hold her in place. The sentiments are both from the set. As usual, I decorated the
inside sentiment to match the front of the card.
Note- The owner of Imagine That offers a discount to people who order sets they've seen on her DT 's blogs. So... if you want to pick up this set... or any other, stop by Imagine That and go shoppin'.

I wanted to
make another card for the Monday Simon Says Challenge because I wanted to use a
clear tropical pineapple tag from a
packet of tags that I recently found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I used a
scrap of pineapple looking scrapbook paper for the background, then used
assorted paper and ribbon scraps to complete the card. The sentiment is
a freebie from Desert Diva. You can find HERE. The final, or should I say
"crowning," touch was to add some wonderful square rhinestones. Aren't
they gorgeous? Am entering this card into several challenges including Outlawz Twisted Thursday where the twist is a recipe of 1 ribbon, 2 Papers, and 3 gems or
pearls. [I might have used more of each that was required, but hope that is okay. With ribbon, paper, and bling, the more is the merrier, right?]

For
my final card in this post, I used another cute bunny from Maria Medel's cute
digi set, named "Easter Bunnies." [You
can find it HERE.] I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and a white gel pen. The sentiment that I made into a sign is a freebie from Desert Diva. You can find it HERE. I cut around the little sweethearts paws so
that I could slide the "sign" under them, just so. The elegant
embossed card is from a stationary set I've had for a least a decade and the
dotted swiss scrapbook paper is a staple in my craft room.
One added note, if you look closely you might notice that I had quite a bit of marker bleeding at his hair line [or should I say his "hare line"?] This is one thing I haven't quite learned to control with alcohol ink markers. In this case, I "colored" over them with a white gel pen. It worked... sort of. It looks a bit like fur and/or a five-o'clock forehead shadow. Ha.
