Mid-month fun!

t's time for another challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge Blog where challenges are always Anything Goes and prizes are awarded from one or more sponsors.  Stop by the blog to check it out! For this challenge, my DT card features an adorable digi from LeeAnn's World  named “Thessa.”  After coloring and fussy-cutting the little cutie, I put my card together, first attaching a free subway art sentiment to ocean print paper, then adding Thessa. The final bling was added with Stickles and sequins.
Supplies:
·   Digi- LeeAnn's World101 (Thessa)
·   Front Sentiment- Subway art Freebie from Create with TLC (Seashells by the Seashore)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Stickles- Star Dust (on Mermaids scales)
·   Sequins- Studio Katia Crystal Clear Fusion
·   Inside Sentiments- Simply Crafts 171-Bonus sentiment downloads found HERE  (Register for access to hundreds of free digis, sentiments, patterns, templates, and more. )
·   Ocean Print Paper- Hobby Lobby
·   All other items from my stash.

This weekend I spent many hours cleaning/organizing my craft room. One task I tackled was going through my box of unfinished card treasures/pieces and parts. (“Ahem”! I need to admit it was actually boxes, plural!) Lots of items got tossed into the trash, but I also found some treasures that were still card worthy. Here are two cards created with these bits and pieces.

This first one features a circle fold envelope that I had made at least a decade ago with patterned papers in yellows and oranges. I stamped bees, a sentiment, and some flowers and leaves with rubber stamps (a few had been pulled from their wood mounts many years ago.) I had picked up a box of wedding announcements in the clearance section of Hobby Lobby a few months ago and decided to adhere the circle envelope to one of the pretty postcards from the box. I like how it looks against the swirly background pattern and the finished card will now slide easily into an A2 envelope.
Supplies:
·   Circle fold card from my box of unfinished card pieces and parts. I did find few tutorials: Here and Here (video)
·   Bee- Hero Arts Rubber Stamp (retired)
·   Colored with Spectrum Noir Classique markers, Sharpie fine-line black permanent marker and Sakura Gelly Roll white gel pen
·   Stickles- Star Dust (on bee wings)
·   Inside Sentiment- Azadi Earls Rubber Stamp (company out of business)
·   Small leaves and flower stamps- unmounted, source unknown (Maybe Art Impressions or Stampendous?)
·   Cream-colored postcard with a yellow flourish- Hobby Lobby (From a box of wedding invitations-Clearance section)
·   Patterned paper and other items from my stash.

The second item I used from my treasure box is an interesting find. I remember making it back in the late ’90s at a little stamp store a friend and I opened in South Dakota. I was teaching a class in unusual ways to use brass stencils (which were the rage back then!) Instead of paper, we used a stylus to trace the stencil, in this case, tulips, onto a piece of aluminum foil tape that I found at a local hardware store. The foiled piece had no color when I pulled it from the unfinished treasures box. But after a little playing around with red nail polish and Sharpie permanent green marker, I love the results! A few paper scraps, silver photo corners, and a small handmade tag finish off the unusual card. (I did a bit of research on Pinterest and found some fun uses for this aluminum tape. My favorite is using it with embossing folders. You can find that link HERE.)
Supplies:
·   Aluminum foil tape- I checked and this item is still available. Check near the duct tape in a hardware store or google it!
·   Small tag- handprinted with Sharpie fine line permanent black marker
·   Silver photo corners available from several web sources (WXJ13 13 Sheets 13 Colors Photo Mounting Corners)
·   Cardstock, paper scraps, and a small strip of ribbon from my stash.
