Stamplorations is hosting a
“Hey Love Blog Hop and Linky
Party” right now. There are several prizes, plus two free
digi images are available for download. I used one of these free digis to
create my card. I kept the coloring to a minimum, just adding shading to the
digi with a gray marker. The only bright colors were created with scraps of
burgundy paper and a plastic document folder. (These wonderful items come in a pack of
assorted colors and can be found in the office supply section of most stores. I
really like using them on my cards because they're cheaper than colored vellum
and are more translucent. The plastic is
easy to fussy-cut with a nice, sharp pair of scissors.) I am entering this card into several other challenges including Crafty
Catz Challenge (two of my favorite colors are fuschia and burgundy.)

For my final
card in this posting, I made a card for the Outlawz Raid Your Stash challenge,
with its current theme “Stencil.” I
wanted to try using the stencil in a different way, so mixed up a small batch
of molding paste with a recipe I found on Pinterest. Using instructions also
found on Pinterest I spread the paste over a Stampendous stencil that I’ve had
since the late 90’s when dry embossing with a lightbox was so popular. Had
first planned to add no coloring to the card, leaving the paste white… but didn’t
like the way it turned out. So the coloring on the roses was added with a few
markers. (Was afraid the dried paste would damage the nibs of my expensive
markers, so just used some cheap Crayola ones. They worked great!)
Supplies:
·
Rose Stencil- Stampendous (no
longer available)
·
Handmade
molding paste.
· A scrap of ribbon and vintage patterned
paper from my stash.
· Sentiments-
