I mounted
the large group onto background paper with a layer of vellum to mute the bold
colors a bit. The
sentiment is from a site named Useless Trinkets that offers dozens of free
images and sentiments. I ended up retyping it to fit it onto the card, but you
can find the original HERE. The pup I trimmed to the group was
added to the inside. Doesn't he look adorable peeking around the sentiment?

My
next is my DT creations for this week's Colour Crazy Challenge. The sponsor is Tiddly Ink and this wonderful
image is named "Ricky Fishing Expert." I
colored Ricky and his whopping catch with Spectrum Noir markers and a white gel
pen. The "net" is made with some mesh fabric that I cut from the
inside pocket of an old travel bag and the oval behind Ricky is cut from a blue plastic
document folder, that comes in a pack of assorted colors and can be found in
the office supply section of most stores. I really like using them on my cards
because they're often cheaper than colored vellum and are more translucent. You can write on them with a fine-line
permanent marker and they're also easy to fussy-cut with a nice, sharp pair of
scissors. The inside sentiment is a freebie from Birdscards that you can find HERE. I added a strip of the mesh and a small photo from my scrapbook stash to add a bit more pizazz to the inside of the card.

My final card for this post is an
Asian inspired bookmark tag, safely nestled in a vellum envelope with a
peek-a-boo window. I used scrapbook paper as the background on the card and on
the tag. The Love symbol block is a rubber stamp that I pulled from the wood
mount years ago. I think it might be a Hero Arts or Embossing Arts stamp. I
covered the tag elements with a strip of clear laminate to make it more
durable. After adding the laminate, I punched the top of the tag and threaded a
strip of red cording through it and attached a porcelain bead from some of my
mom's old jewelry. I know that my sister, who will be receiving this bookmark
will love that! I plan to make a small box envelope that will protect the bead
when I mail the card to her in a padded envelope.
