Back in 1999, I co-owned a stamp store with a dear friend. Two of the lines that we carried were Eureka and Biblical Impressions. I have several stamps from both of these great companies… and just learned that many of them are available through a business named “Stamp On It”. They have a weekly challenge named QKR Stampede. So… just had to use one of my favorite little Eureka stamps to enter into that challenge… and a few other challenges, too, including two CAS ones. (Note- I picked up the box of monogrammed cards with the luscious lime green edging and envelopes at the local Goodwill for 50 cents. The “B” monogram, when turned on its side, made a fun backdrop for the little kitten. And the placement of his eyes so that the green was perfectly positioned for his irises was just luck!)

Power Poppy’s monthly challenge is to color on kraft. I used water color pencils with this months free digi from Vanilla Arts and the sentiment is from Beccy's Place "Seasonal windows" digi set. To help get brighter tones I first colored the entire image lightly with the white pencil, then added the colors on the top. Worked okay, especially on the butterfly.

There are many lovers of baseball in my family, so was fun to make this card for Victorine Originals Stamps. The ball was cut from a textured cardstock that looks a bit like leather. I used red embroidery thread to hand stitch the ball (found the idea on Pinterest) and kept the rest of the card simple. The sentiment is printed off on my computer.

Turned another old roller stamps from SU into a border stamp that I can use with my MISTI. So much easier than trying to roll in a straight line and now provides an image that is bold enough to show up!

Another fabulous collection of cards Kathy!
ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job on the little cat card. I was surprised to read that the background was actually a monogrammed letter... had no idea until you mentioned it. What a happy accident to have the cat's eyes stamped perfectly with the green!
The colouring on your second card is amazing, you've done an awesome job. The butterfly looks like it's about to fly away.
I love the way you've stitched the ball on your baseball card, what a great idea! The leather texture of the card stock you used also adds to the illusion. Love it!
What a fabulous idea to turn your old roller stamp into a traditional flat one! I love the way you've coloured and shadowed all that holly, it looks beautiful. Well done Kathy!
Cheers,
Beccy
